During this 60-minute experience, you’ll meet with a knowledgeable Guide who will provide insight into the inner workings of our African elephant herd. Your guide will provide a glimpse into the day-to-day care of these amazing animals and share stories of Disney’s conservation efforts dedicated to the preservation of wild populations throughout the world.
Throughout this experience, you’ll be able to observe the elephants from approximately 80 to 100 feet away—so you’ll enjoy a closer encounter with the elephants than you would during other in-park experiences.

If you’ve never ridden a Segway before, you’re in for a treat! Maneuverable, fast, quiet and fun to ride, the X2 is an all-terrain vehicle that can be mastered in minutes. And what better way to do it than with a beautiful backdrop of Florida countryside!
Navigate a variety of surfaces from paved paths to woodland trails as you complete a 2-hour circuit that includes stops at the stables of Tri-Circle-D Ranch, and glassy Bay Lake, where photo ops abound.
Your informative, entertaining Cast Member acts as a guide, sharing trivia, anecdotes and instructions along the way and keeping you in the loop through your electronic headset.

Get Your Segway Legs
Before you head out, you’ll receive approximately 30 minutes of instruction and practice time. You’ll also be outfitted with a safety helmet and an electronic earpiece.
After a brief how-to video and some pointers from your guide, get your bearings on an outdoor training course where you’ll weave through cones and ride up and down a small incline. Then you’re off!

- Wilderness Back Trail Adventure is a 2-hour outdoor tour, so be sure to check the weather forecast and dress appropriately.
- Only a portion of the tour may be cancelled due to inclement weather. In that event, Guests will receive a 50% price adjustment. The first portion of the tour will be held in a covered pavilion, rain or shine.
- Guests on the 8:30 AM tour may need to arrange alternate transportation to arrive at the location on time, as standard Walt Disney World transportation will not be available. Check with your Resort Concierge for transportation options. Guests are responsible for their own transportation costs (e.g., taxi fare).
- Comfortable shoes, such as sneakers, are recommended as Guests will be on their feet for 2 hours. Flip-flops, sandals or rocker/exercise-type shoes (e.g., Skechers Shape-Ups) will not be permitted as these are not compatible with the Segway.
- Please check in at the Bike Barn at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort 15 minutes prior to your tour.
